It’s important to note that as the weather gets warmer during summer, the air in your car’s tires will expand. That’s why it’s important to check the tire pressure on all four tires as you drive your vehicle in the summer heat. If you regularly drive with winter tires during the colder months and switch tires between seasons, then you’ll want to make sure that you make that switch as well.
Your vehicle runs on engine oil, but there are so many other fluids in your vehicle that are responsible for making it run efficiently on the roads of Roslyn. That’s why you’ll want to have all of your vehicle’s essential fluids inspected and checked. Here are the fluids we recommend checking before taking your vehicle out for a summer drive:
Fluids to Check:
You’ll want to make sure that your vehicle has enough of these fluids but also that they are in good condition. That means that these fluids are the proper color or have no unusual smells.
Warm weather can be tough on your vehicle’s battery, so to ensure that your car won’t need a jump-start during your next summer outing, you’ll want to get your battery tested. When you schedule service at Rallye BMW, you’ll be able to get your battery tested and even replaced in a timely manner. We can even perform a battery cleaning if there’s any corrosion on any part of it.
You’ll want your A/C system working properly during those warm summer days, and that’s why you should have your A/C system thoroughly checked. Here are some general things to check:
Rainy days are more prominent in summer days, and visibility is important on the Jericho roads. Heat can make rubber wear out faster, so you’ll want to make sure that your wiper blades are working properly. Run them on some water to see if they streak or if the blades still work. You may have to get your windshield wipers replaced, but they’re relatively inexpensive to replace on your own.
Whether you drove your car regularly during the winter or left it in your garage, your car’s exterior could probably benefit from a cleaning. We recommend washing the exterior of your vehicle to not only help it look good but to also get rid of any dirt and grime that may have built up on it over the winter. This type of debris can be harmful to your vehicle’s exterior, and if you plan on having it for the long haul, then you want it to look good, right?
After you clean the car’s exterior, we recommend giving it a wax to help give it that final shine. If you’ve found this helpful, then check out our other service and parts tips at Rallye BMW.
