The Unique Anatomy of an Electric Vehicle

For starters, EVs don’t have engine blocks. Instead, they feature a battery that sends a current of electricity to a motor with magnets. The magnets cause the electrical current to turn the motor, which generates the torque that propels your vehicle. Other unique parts include your onboard charger, which converts charging station electricity into DC power—what your battery needs to run. Your EV also features a DC-DC converter, which further filters that charge, converting it from high-voltage to low-voltage so it can safely enter your battery.
